Kelly Powers pianist, composer and educator is a young, inspired artist making her way on the New York City jazz scene. Kelly graduated Magna Cum Laude from Jackie McLean Institute for Jazz Studies and thereupon pursued her Master's degree at the Manhattan School of Music. During this time she was a student of pianists Harold Mabern, Larry Willis, Garry Dial, Andy Laverne and jazz legend Jackie McLean. Kelly also had the opportunity to study with George Cables at the Jazz in July summer program at University of Massachusetts, Amherst. 

Kelly has performed alongside many great jazz artists including Jimmy Heath, Eddie Henderson, Nat Reeves, Steve Davis, Jim Rotundi, Eric Alexander, Jeremy Pelt, Winard Harper, Dezron Douglas and Luquez Curtis. She has also performed and toured with many big bands including the Artie Shaw Orchestra, Cab Calloway Orchestra, Jack Jeffers NYC Classics, George Gee Swing Orchestra and Travis Sullivan Bjorkestra. She has played many venues around the world, some of these include, Jazz Cafe (London), Body and Soul (Tokyo), Cafe Rosenberg (Reykjavik), Jazz Club (Barcelona), Smoke, Cleopatra's Needle, Kitano, Zinc Bar, Miles Cafe, Swing 46, Minton's Playhouse, the Carlyle, Rainbow Room, Scullers and Regattabar.
